IT technical support officer


IT technical support officers will mainly responsible for the smooth running of computer systems and ensuring users get maximum benefits from them.

Responsibility to be Maintain:


To provide technical support to telephone and email requests from users for all PC hardware, software and associated peripherals.

Communicating with target audiences and managing customer relationships.

To redirect or escalate support requests to the appropriate member of the IT Support Centre.

To pro-actively provide information to users on the progress of outstanding support calls.

To contribute to ensuring that the Help Desk systems and software are kept up to date and messages are passed on and feedback received promptly.

To assist in the compilation and maintenance of an accurate inventory of hardware and software.

To liaise with colleagues in all Directorate Support and Technical Development teams to ensure continuity of service for all users.


Other Responsibility:


To maintain personal and professional development to meet the changing demands of the job, participate in appropriate training activities and encourage and support staff in their development and training.

To undertake such other duties, training and/or hours of work as may be reasonably required and which are consistent with the general level of responsibility of this job.

To undertake health and safety duties commensurate with the post and/or as detailed in the Directorate’s Health and Safety Policy.


Education Qualification


Minimum Education Level NQF 5 / QCF 5 and previous experiences will be preferable
